A good stress.
Tonight while sipping beer at dinner, my bride Jill and daughter Hannah had a laugh at my expense. I complained about having a headache, largely due to the stressful day I had. Stress, directly related to an annual flight test I took early this afternoon. Compound stress if you will, because I actually took my flight test on Monday, but FAILED the portion relating to the flight computer and navigation... read more

Edmonton Artist Jason Carter
It’s been 9 months since we moved into our new offices, and I have finally found a piece of art that I think works well in my office. It’s not that I procrastinate that bad, but more I really wanted to find something meaningful for the wall. I wanted: Local Modern Original Something with an Alberta/Edmonton or Canadian story What I found, after receiving about 50 different suggestions from my... read more

Let's give each other a break
I have been much quieter as of late on Twitter and this blog. I would admit that much of that has come from the frequent criticism I receive from people due to my role as Alberta Party President. I am not complaining about my chance to be the non-caucus leader of such a great organization. It is very meaningful to me to have this chance to serve. Even if it is a major time pressure on my personal... read more

The Super Bowl and Super Progress
For 5 straight years, my brother-in-law and I hosted a very large Super Bowl Party. 60 invitees, hordes of beer, and a laundry list of manly vices. We finally abandoned the party after my insurance agent and lawayer both made the point one year about host-liability. It was that big. Our love of football and the big game, was not doused, so we started a 4 year cycle of heading to Las Vegas for the Super... read more

Loose lips and all that – My thoughts on Wikileaks
NOTE: – This post has been rumbling around on my computer and in my brain for a week now, and I am still 49.99% unsure of where I stand on this. So, take this with a grain of salt, and expect it to be a long, rambling waste of your time. But it’s how I help think things through, and it’s costing you nothing but a few brains cells I was having a debate with a friend of mine on Facebook,... read more

When should a leader move on?
There is nothing worse than watching someone overstay their welcome. In some cases, other than the simple akwardness, it can be harmless for an organization. In some cases though, a leader will overstay their welcome and by doing so, will bring much harm to their team, and even the entire process. I think we are witnessing one of those times. The greater good requires leaders to accept that there are... read more

Message channel overload
For all of the reasons you can imagine, I am a huge fan of technology, and our ability to easily connect with each other. But technology has advanced at a rate in which I am starting to feel overwhelmed by the thousands of personal connections I now have with everything from very close and real friends / business associates, and many hundred “social network” contacts, aquaintences fornow, but... read more

My personal, political journey, in blog posts
I can’t sleep. I am excited about the future of this Province, and particularly the Alberta Party. So tonight I started to reminisce about the last year and how this movement coud have taken on such momentum. I was frankly shocked to go back and read some of my previous blog posts on the subject. I have to admit to being alarmed at how my personal journey has aligned with so many others. If you read... read more
